    Hi everyone,
I just become a member and I was reading the posts for awhile and all the info that you have here is very helpful.
I just got a 1986 XJ700 and I don't know much about it. It was purchased in Houston, TX. and it has almost 2000 miles.
I took apart the carbs yesterday an 2 of them are not in good shape so I will need to rebuild them. Can somebody give me some directions how to order the right parts?
    thanks in advance.

Go to the buy/sell/swap section and find the thread for parts for all maxims secas and turbos or e-mail chacal at info @ xj4ever.com (take out the spaces). He's the man on this forum who can get you squared away with parts.

there are pictures in the hox to forum I believe as well as a few guides on cleaning and sync'ing up the carbs once you get them together. Did you pick up a liquid or air cooled 700? Details man an 86' with under 2000 miles is a find for sure.

Texas eh? Go with chacal on the parts, I endorse completely.

Are you doing a complete rebuild<throttle valve, fuel rails, etc>
or are you doing a bottom end cleanup??

Either way the Forum XJ FAQ can guide you.

    You in Houston Fishmaster?>?

I live in Spring, TX. I just want to change the bad internal parts in the carbs. I would like to learn how to synch them and ride the bike to shake all the dust from her. The bike is in pretty good shape. My brother in law owned the bike for 22 years and he only drove 1982 miles. crazy ah?
