I would like to thank Len for the quick service and the great parts layout. A-1 in my book. I help people out that have older bikes that have some issues and cannot find anyone that will even entertain them. This time, was a co workers sisters' 82' 750 Maxim. I had never worked on one before and figured it would be a good challenge for me. Unfortunately,( or fortunately) there was no challenge to be had. Between this web site and Len's parts, I was able to go through the entire unit and make a very sweet running bike. I'm going to ride it for the next few days and turn it back over to the owner at the end of the week. She should be pretty surprised that not only does the bike start and run as it should, but I did some detail work to give the bike some of its' dignity back. Thanks again guys! -Rob

 

Thanks Len! It seems to be I only have the most obscure parts broke or missing, its nice to know that I can easily get the parts, and every detail about them from Chacal.

Been a lurker since May of 2013 when I picked up an 81 xj750 seca. I have learned a great deal reading the threads throughout this forum and I wanted to pass along a big thank you and recognition to user Chacal at xj4ever.

Bump for Chacal. Great service, has talked me through and updated me on every step of the orders I need to get my new bike that is "Running, a daily driver, just got a carb clean and tune up from the shop" able to be safely and dependably ridden.

 

Another bump for chacal. Order came in today and he had even preassembled my float valve needles to protect them during shipping. Better prices than eBay and great service, then man drove my order through the snow and ice to get it the post office. This man deserves your money.

Hey Len,
I still have not seen an autopsy report from the banding coloration on those stainless steel brake lines. Did the manufacturer do a detailed examination to determine cause? You replied that it was cosmetic and will not affect performance but that a detailed evaluation was in progress.

The carb kit to fix my carb issues is still not solving my problems, when or if the carbs are functiuonal I will to make a decision as to wheather I keep the SS lines.

Thanks to Len for sending me the crankshaft oil seals for my XS1100.
Arrived last week, joined the two halves together today no problems. Fit like a glove.
Shame Yamaha discontinued the seals that use the inner lip, but the pattern part one is just the same, and the genuine part will probably be good.
Only drawback in getting parts from over the pond is the UK Customs and Excise taking their cut.

I have lurked on this site since fall of last year... finally getting around to posting something. Would like to say thanks to Len and XJ4ever parts and service. Very fast, catches what I miss in the excitement of ordering parts...

Don't worry about ordering parts. Very safe. I use Paypal.. couldn't be easier.

Rebuilding carbs.. all apart now, and just about to put them back together. Oh how I wish I would have known about this site the first time I took them apart... oh, well... found it when it didn't run right when back together...

It was the "Hayes manual incorrect in placement of jets" that struck home with this site...

I would also like to wish Rickomatic well, your many posts have provided much insight...

I will be asking more questions later...

just wanted to mention that i got my order very fast and the parts are great. Len even includes excellent instructions. but here's a tip for anyone else who orders these: READ HIS INSTRUCTIONS. he includes some great tips that would have helped if i had read them before i started.
anyhow, i highly recommend xjbikes.com as THE source for these bikes.

Big shout out to Len/Chacal and XJ4ever; I don't always post about my experience here, but XJ4Ever is just indispensible. My biggest order yet was a couple weeks ago (upgrading brakes, rotor, SS lines) and a performance fork rebuild for my XJ550 Maxim. Len had it shipped out the same day (Wednesday) and it arrived Friday - just in time for weekend wrenching.

I have bought parts from the 'stealer' or other online parts sources, but it takes forever and it's hard to find anyone that knows about these bikes. I appreciate XJEver's fast service and especially the knowledge and attention Len provides us (nice to have a fork rebuild "kit" to take the guesswork out of needed parts). Thanks Len for supporting the community here!

 

I can't give Len & the xj4ever team a big enough pump up. As usual he astounded me in the turn around of my order, even with the obscure bits. I put the order in over the weekend so was not expecting an overnight turnaround. It is easy enough to source the big buck items but try re-building wheels without the correct flanged spacer ring or gear drive meter clutch retainer. Got my parts down here in Oz inside two weeks. Even if I could find the parts here they would quote me two weeks delivery from Japan on back order. Forget Ebay go with a quality reliable provider.

I have a 83' 900 Seca and need parts help bad! I don't suppose you can locate the black ignition box for one of these puppies can you???

 

Ordered some parts for my carbs that were no longer available from the local Yamaha dealer. Not only were they available thru Chacal, but they are also an upgraded version (brass instead of the old plastic that I kept breaking...). And the price was good to boot.

 

just got my stainless steel brake lines and was surprised by the detailed and thorough instructions it came with as well. will order from chacal for sure next time

Bought a bunch of stuff from Len over at XJ4ever - and what I would say is that he has the most reliable selection of XJ parts. When I look around the web for parts I need, I sometimes find them cheaper - but I usually choose to pay Len a bit more because I KNOW it will be the right part, and that my shipment will be givin the highest priority. I placed my order this morning, and it's already on it's way. Cheers, Len and keep it going!

 

Received my heavy-laden box of parts from Len (Chacal) yesterday! I work 24-hour shifts as a firefighter, so I wasn't able to check it out until this morning. I cannot compliment him, his service, and his parts quality highly enough! I applaud his dedication to service and quality, and I recommend that anyone in need of parts take these dozens of pages of positive recommendations to heart and spend your money with Len! If you buy anywhere else, I can guarantee that you will be getting a lower level of service and knowledge, even if you are lucky enough to find the same parts, which I HIGHLY doubt!

 

Brake lines, master cylinder ordered. Brake lines, master cylinder installed. Needed a bit of help to get the brake light switch removed, Len responded within the hour to my request for help. Brake lines bled, painful just like like it was noted in the accompanying literature (I did read it first despite my best intentions). Above and beyond again. Thanks.
